  1. Incoming fabric weight should be checked against the approved swatch or purchase specification, commonly within ±5% unless the buyer has approved a different tolerance. Record measured GSM from several fabric positions rather than relying only on mill labels.
  2. Fabric shade, seed speck level, slub level, weave density, handfeel, and odor should be compared with the approved standard before cutting. Mixed fabric lots should not be cut into the same shipment unless shade variation is accepted.
  3. Fabric defects should be flagged before cutting: holes, oil marks, weaving bars, stains, heavy slubs, creases, contamination, dye streaks, mildew smell, and excessive lint.
  4. Finished dimensions should be measured after sewing and before packing: width, height, bottom gusset, top opening, handle width, handle drop, and label position. Define measurement points so inspectors and factory staff measure the same way.
  5. Cut panels should be square and aligned with grain direction. Obvious fabric skew can make the tote twist when hung or filled, even if the dimensions technically pass.
  6. Print position must be checked against the artwork placement sheet or approved pre-production sample. For simple centered coffee logos, even small visual misalignment is easy for customers to notice.
  7. Print quality should include opacity, edge sharpness, registration between colors, color match, ink coverage, curing, rubbing resistance, pinholes, smears, cracking, ghost marks, and transfer marks from stacking.
  8. Printed panels should be reviewed before and after folding. A fold line through a large front logo may be acceptable for bulk storage but should be approved if the tote is sold as retail merchandise.
  9. Handle attachment should be checked for reinforcement shape, stitch density, skipped stitches, loose threads, poor backtacking, uneven left-right placement, and weak connection to the top hem.
  10. Handle strength should be verified with an agreed method, such as a static hanging load using the buyer's target load plus safety margin. The test method, load, time, and pass/fail criteria should be written down.
