- Is the quoted price based on one-color print, one-side print, both sides, or a sewn label, and what is the charge for each additional color or placement?
- What are the MOQ breakpoints for body color, artwork change, fabric weight, label addition, and packaging change?
- Which steps are made in-house and which are outsourced, including weaving, dyeing, cutting, printing, sewing, trimming, inspection, and packing?
- What sample cost, sample lead time, revision cost, and sample freight method should we budget?
- Can you share carton dimensions, carton count per shipment, net and gross weight, and whether cartons are export-ready for palletizing?
- What inspection standard do you use for stitching, print alignment, stain control, odor, seam strength, and measurement tolerance?
- What is the realistic bulk lead time after sample approval, and what items typically extend it?
- How do you control shade consistency across repeat orders if the cotton lot, print run, or dye lot changes?
- What happens if the approved packing method changes after sampling or if the warehouse requests a different fold, barcode, or label format?
Quality-control points to confirm
- Agree fabric weight tolerance before production. A practical commercial window is often within +/-5% of the approved finished GSM target, with tighter limits if the program is premium or color-matched.
- Check finished bag dimensions at multiple points on each sample and first production batch: body width, body height, gusset depth, opening width, handle length, and handle drop.
- Test handle attachment with a real pull check. The handle should not show skipped stitches, seam opening, puckering, or thread breakage at the reinforcement point under repeated stress.
- Check stitch quality under magnification or close visual inspection. Define the maximum acceptable loose thread length, seam waviness, missed stitches, and needle damage before production starts.
- Measure print registration against the approved artwork file. Set a tolerance for logo placement, image skew, and print-to-edge distance; reject blur, pinholes, heavy smudging, or ghosting unless intentionally specified.
- Run a rub test on the print and label area when the artwork is simple and the order volume justifies it. Confirm the ink or film does not transfer, crack, or lift at fold lines.
- Inspect odor, oil stains, lint, broken needles, and color variance as separate defect categories. Decide which are critical, major, or minor so the supplier knows what triggers rework or rejection.
- Check carton count, fold direction, inner pack method, and barcode or SKU labels against the approved packing list so fulfillment teams can receive and kit without repacking.
- If AQL is used, write the sampling plan and defect categories into the purchase order or quality appendix before shipment. If AQL is not used, define a clear pass/fail rule for critical, major, and minor defects.
- Keep the golden sample, approved artwork file, packing reference, and final spec sheet together in the order file for future reorder checks and dispute resolution.
