It also needs testing for folding, edge lift, and abrasion. Direct digital printing on coarse jute is less predictable because fibers and slubs interrupt fine detail.
If the design is based on a painting, do not assume the full image belongs on coarse jute. A simplified crop, silhouette, line drawing, or two-color interpretation may sell better and print more reliably. Color also needs realistic language. Pantone references are useful, but natural jute will warm and mute colors. The final commercial standard should be the approved physical sample. A typical front logo might be specified as 220 mm wide, centered on the finished front panel, with the top of the print 90 mm below the finished top edge and a tolerance of ±5 mm. If the artwork is close to the handle stitching or side seam, increase clearance or redesign the layout.
Barcode placement deserves the same precision. Museum shops often need fast scanning at a crowded till. Do not place a barcode over a side gusset, seam ridge, heavy jute slub area, or dark print.
