Quality-control points to confirm

  1. Verify fabric GSM against the approved specification using an agreed measurement method. A common commercial tolerance is around +/-5%, but the buyer and supplier should confirm the exact band in the PO.
  2. Confirm organic cotton documentation matches the material route and claim wording. Buyer-facing claims should not exceed the certificates, scope, fiber content, or transaction documents available.
  3. Measure finished bag size flat after sewing: body width, height, gusset depth, top hem depth, handle width, and handle drop. Record the measurement method and tolerance, such as +/-1 cm for body dimensions where suitable.
  4. Check top hems, side seams, bottom seams, and gussets for skipped stitches, open seams, broken threads, loose backstitching, exposed raw edges where not approved, and sharp thread ends.
  5. Inspect handle anchors for the approved reinforcement method: box-X, cross-stitch, bar tack, double row, or equivalent. Run practical load checks using the expected filled weight plus an agreed safety margin.
  6. Confirm stitch density on representative seams, for example by stitches per inch or per centimeter, and reject visibly loose, uneven, or broken stitching at stress points.
