Size the pouch around real skincare products

The right pouch size depends on the job. Three foil sachets and a card need a different pouch from a glass jar, serum bottle, facial tool, and folded insert. A spa amenity pouch may only need a soft natural look. A retail gift-set pouch may need better body, cleaner logo placement, and more controlled packing because it will be handled, photographed, stored, and displayed.

Finished dimensions are more useful than general claims such as fits 50 ml jar. The usable opening is smaller than the flat width because seams and the drawcord channel consume space. Rigid containers need clearance through the opening. Pumps, caps, droppers, square jars, and tools can catch even when the main item technically fits. If the sample feels tight during desk review, bulk assembly will feel worse.

GSM alone is not a complete fabric specification. Plain weave cotton is typically clean, flexible, and cost efficient. Twill has more texture and body. Light canvas can feel durable, although it may be too stiff for small pouches. Muslin can support a natural skincare look, but slubs, seed flecks, and weave variation should be approved as part of the intended appearance. Otherwise the same natural texture can become a quality dispute after delivery.

Color route should be chosen early. Stock natural and stock white are usually simpler than custom dyed shades. Black or dark cotton may need stronger ink coverage and rub checks. A custom brand color requires lab dips, bulk shade approval, and a written tolerance for variation. Repeat orders can shift by dye lot, so keep a signed swatch or approved sample as the reference standard.

CIF, DAP, or DDP quotes may include more logistics responsibility, but they can also hide freight assumptions and destination charges. Compare suppliers using the same Incoterm and named place whenever possible, then evaluate landed cost separately from manufacturing cost.

Lead time should be tied to a clear trigger. Does the clock start after deposit, artwork approval, fabric approval, lab dip approval, PP sample approval, or receipt of custom labels? For skincare launches, this point matters because pouch delays can hold up finished kits even when formulas and cartons are ready.
