Start with the campaign job, not the pouch name

Lighter 120-150 GSM cotton can be useful for low-load presentation sleeves, mail inserts, or short-term giveaways where weight matters. The tradeoff is lower opacity, softer structure, and a less premium feel. Heavier 220-280 GSM cotton or canvas can make sense for retail fundraising, higher-value donor gifts, or heavier kits. It also changes the budget: more material, slower sewing, larger cartons, higher freight, and possible postage impact.

Color needs the same level of control. Natural unbleached cotton is common for nonprofit campaigns because it works with simple branding and avoids dye approval complexity. It also comes with seed flecks, slubs, and shade variation, which should be accepted within an approved range. Bleached cotton gives a cleaner ground but can show dirt more easily. Match print method to artwork risk

Screen printing is the baseline for many cotton drawstring pouch campaigns, especially when artwork uses one to three spot colors. It gives predictable pricing at volume and works well for logos, slogans, sponsor marks, and simple campaign graphics. Water-based inks can keep a softer hand feel, while heavier ink systems can create stronger color blocks. Either way, curing and adhesion must be controlled, especially before pouches are stacked or packed.

Transfers, digital transfers, or digital printing may be useful when the artwork has gradients, many colors, photo-style content, or short version runs. Commercial terms should not be left until after supplier selection. MOQ can come from different places. A natural cotton pouch in a common size may have a lower practical minimum than a dyed pouch with custom cord and six artwork versions.
