This lets suppliers quote the same product and gives inspectors a clear reference later.
Outside size and internal size should both be controlled. Outside size affects display, perceived value, carton volume, and photography. Internal size determines whether the contents fit without bending or catching. Zipper opening length is a separate measurement because a portfolio can have enough internal area but still be hard to load if the opening is too short.
